HRA Wrap-up 174August 16, 2006 That's all for today!
As you probably guessed, I'm back from the San Jose conference and from my vacation in Hawaii! The conference was fun as usual, especially because I had a chance to catch up with lots of old friends. The Google Dance was pretty cool, but I was a bit annoyed that they ran out of t-shirts by the time we got there. So we cried and whined to enough folks who had the t-shirts until finally a few took pity on us and gave us theirs! (Thanks to the woman -- whose name I've forgotten -- who gave me hers!) Hawaii was awesome (of course). I had a nice visit with my sister and her significant other, as well as my parents, plus I was reunited with my daughter Jamie. She wasn't real thrilled about coming home with me, but she didn't kick and scream too much! The cool thing about being in Hawaii was that with the 6-hour time difference, I was able to wake up around 7AM and get online to get the scoop on everything that had happened in the Boston office while I slept. I could put out any fires and do some work, then be finished up by noon when everyone on the East Coast had gone home for the day. This gave me the rest of the day to play at the beach or whatever. I can see why my sister likes having her own company out there as she can do the same thing if she wants. (She doesn't...but she can if she wants!) Better get going.
