Hello Jill:

DMOZI read an article about ODP/DMOZ (the Open Directory Project, also known as DMOZ, from that mentioned the advice you had given on getting a site submitted. I am hoping you can help me navigate the confusing ODP site where I submitted my website to let me know how I can find the editor of the topic I submitted to so I can contact him or her. Is there a list of editors for each topic? Or should I just send my questions to any editor I can find?

Thank you,

Hi Monika,

That article must have been very old. ODP/DMOZ is fairly dead these days. I would suggest simply submitting your site once and then forgetting about it. It's not important to be there.

Hope this helps!

yes, a sad but true summary of the state of affairs at ODP -- a far cry from the enthusiasm of its Newhoo days -- tho something of its early spirit can be found in blekko (the latest venture of Rick Skrenta, ex-CEO of DMOZ), which perhaps should be of interest to SEO professionals for the wealth of data re ranking it makes available, presumably drawing on the experience of its ex-Google employees
