Has anyone encountered this before:
Does using overture spur Yahoo's Slurp? In our logfiles, we keep seeing something similar to the following: /Default.asp source=overture 200 78 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+Yahoo!+Slurp;+http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp) - Will this help with getting listed in Yahoo, or is it merely searching for the terms we have paid for? Thanks! |

I meant to add this as well; the next entry was:
"differentpage"/Default.asp source=overture&OVRAW=keyword1&OVKEY=keyword2&OVMTC=standard 200 78 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322) - Keyword1 and keyword2 signify keywords listed that we have bought on Overture. Hopefully that is clear enough! |

Kinda looks to me like Yahoo clicked on one of your Overture ads. If that's the case, I hope they're not charging you for that.

Have you ever heard of that happening before? and if not, what would be the best way to contact Yahoo/Overture?
As a side note, we are listed as a top site for a number of keywords on Google, but are nowhere to be found on Yahoo...I guess they're just super slow?? |

Contact Overture through your Overture account to explain the situation. They may have a better answer for you.
You're right about Google picking up on stuff faster. I've seen the same thing. |

This might be happening as part of an ongoing test. If you're using a tracking URL, the crawler visits may appear to be clicks on your listings. If this occurs you won't be charged for these clicks.
Thanks, Yahoo! Mike |

Thanks for clarifying, Mike. It seems like Yahoo/Overture wouldn't have any problem detecting their own ads. It's good to hear that that's the case.

Thanks YahooMike, and Haystack, for the clarification.
