YES jill i care a lot (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) , Was waiting for it, you know it is really a thrilling experience when these backlink update comes, my new site has ended up with a homepage PR5 and innerpages PR4 was expecting a PR6, its ok within one month I got a PR5 that is good,
I queried that datacentre for PageRank still not showing in toolbar though,

Anyone like me who cannot wait to see PageRank in toolbar can query that data centre, Simple option search for a string like this ( http:// 216.239.57.99/search?client=navclient-auto&googleip=O;216.239.57.104;360&ch=64261035695&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&querytime=OB&features=Rank&q=info:http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Edomain%2Ecom%2F ) in the Temporary internet files folder, Once you browse the necessary site the string is automatically created in that format, Just doubleclick that or copy the short cut and paste in the browser, change the Ip address with this one 66.102.9.104

(IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif) Talk about two extremes! Well, I must admit I do fall in the center somewhere near Vijay at the moment. I'm a wee bit worried about my sites. I have about 10 or so sites that I monitor ranking in addition to other webmaster duties.

I put them all in Digitial Point's tool to get a check of backlinks and keyword ranking. I'll use one client as an example.

I SEO'd their site for usability AND SEs. So we've got this way better site with descriptive yet optimized title tags, etc.. The client and I both look for relevant links in related guides or complimentary sites and managed to get about 10 or so between us with about 20 still waiting for a link.

We've been waiting for monhts and while it IS silly to look everyday, it is also understandable to wonder where the site ranks, right? I mean, I want them to do business not just from paid ads but natural rankings and I can't seem to get them to show up for more than 9999+ for most keywords.

Even checked out the competition and we are doing a much better job all around. Sooooo, is Google lagging lately or what?

Thanks!

Mida, how is that site doing in the other engines?

You just can't judge anything by Google right now because they appear to be somewhat broken again. Not as badly as before, but they're still not so great where relevancy is concerned.

The particular site in question is faring just as well in other engines, but Google is more fickle. What do you mean by "broken again" ? Just trying to figure out what's up (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks!

The PR update has reached the uk on the main google & I have just seen my hop. From 19th to P 6 (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hope it'll go up a little further still.

One strange thing I noticed is all the links on my main nav bar have PR5 except the links directory which has only got a 3. Can't work out why that should be. Maybe it needs to age a little. Maybe they just want to make it more difficult to get links.

If your site is doing well in other engines, then there's nothing wrong with your site, only something wrong with Google, imo.

Do you want to try to make your site worse than it is to that it fits with Google's current (possibly warped) sense of what a good site is?

Do the other sites that show up for your particular keyword phrases in Google appear to be the best, most relevant sites for those phrases to you? If they do, then yes, you have to do something to beat them. But if they are most definitely not, then again I ask you...what are you gonna do? Make your site be less relevant for your phrases?

Where the PR update is concerned, we have stayed / upgraded to PR 6 for all our sites. I do agree with Jill though re google being semi broken. The spam sites that dominated the SERPS before all the updates are still dominating, and even more so now as the company seems to be duplicating websites at a rapid rate. There are at least 5 dupe sites (different domain names) in the SERPS that I track at the moment. No doubt more are in the making. I am hoping that G gets wise before they spam me out of the top 10 rankings I have for most of my terms.
