It might be the end of high pr blog spam commenting as people will see less and less value in these links.
Actually, Google is working towards elimination of comment spamming .;

See the Official source: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com...mment-spam.html

Is it for the best of the web?

I blogged about this earlier today, the worrying thing as I reasd it was the veiled threat about potential loss of trust with regard having blogspam links. They say about removing any blogspam you might have created yourself, and then filing a reinclusion request!

That is a really big admission IMO.

If after all these years, the only solution Google found to eradicate blog comments spam is to penalize all websites having this kind of links .. Then shame on them ..

So what they want, is that the webmasters sit and watch if their competitors link to them using blog comments spam ..

If you discover any "suspicious link" (their words) then send an email to the third party:

-Dear webmaster, please remove the comment that says blabla and is linking to my website blabla because it's a comment made by one of my competitors in your spammy blog.

-hein? Go away!

Imagine now, that THE webmaster you are contacting to remove the link is actually YOUR competitor and he took his time to make that blog from scratch just to link to your website ? And of course he will do some link building and exchange links with viagra, warez etc etc ..

I hope that Google people know what they are saying.

You're correct, Hic. Which is why you can't believe everything that the search engines tell you. It's not necessarily true, but in their own best interests.

That is so right Jill, and it is getting worse now than ever, especially with Google.
