Yahoo Analytics
A new pinned thread. Metaphorically of course. Currently Available to: "Yahoo! Small Business customers who host e-commerce sites with Yahoo!, as well as to advertisers who work with Yahoo! Custom Solutions and Yahoo! Buzz Marketing." Anyone fit the above description, familiar with the package some other way or familiar with the underlying product, IndexTools? |

The real-time part sounds interesting, compared to the 24h delay in Google Analytics. I guess I'll have to wait before I can test it until they broaden their requirements a little bit.

Same here. I have developed some Yahoo API tools, though I'm not sure if that's what they're talking about on the splash page or not.
I did sign up for more information. And tried to log in with my Developer ID, which didn't work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/giggle.gif) If they open it up I might be able to get some real world comparisons with GoAn, since my personal site where the Yahoo Developer stuff is housed has already been using GoAn for some months. |

QUOTE Same here. I have developed some Yahoo API tools, though I'm not sure if that's what they're talking about on the splash page or not. I must say, Yahoo are very bad at being clear. Same goes for the YSM control centre. From that splash page, I found it very hard to work out anything about what it this product is. I don't know if it fills the same niche as GA at all. Lately, I've been wanting a totally different approach to analytics. Integration with CMS could do the trick. I'd like (for example) something that does a better job at providing a sort of CRM analytics rather then broad anonymous analytics. A customer could have a record telling you all sorts of interesting information: How did they find you the first time? How do they keep finding you? Do they search for a the name of the site? Do they they hit a bookmark to a page? Do they go into their inbox & find the receipt mail I sent them 4 years ago. How often do they forget their password? How many times do they view a product before buying. How affected are they by changes to the product line. Do they view newer products more then old? I think you need specialised tools for that. To make it viable for small businesses, that probably means integrating the shopping cart with the analytics (yahoo stores?). Then they could also stick to worrying about just the things they can take action about. Google are in a bad position to do this because of the whole Google is watching us thing |
