I am most likely behind the times, since I've fallen behind on keeping up with many resources of late (am that addicted to Twitter...newsletters and forums are taking a hit...but I still love/use them), but I didn't realize that a Twitter status can rank in Google! I did a search for an exact match of a phrase to check and see if it was a new phrase or if my friend had made it up. I had used the phrase a bit ago in Twitter, to promote her, and sure enough. There was my past tweet! If you want to see, it's "don't bug me or i'll blog about it". That particular tweet did have a TinyURL in it, which works as long as TinyURL keeps it active for future (albeit random) clicks. Also, it can display for your name, if you include it in your account setup settings.

Yep. It seems some have nofollow links and some don't.

Be careful what you Tweet, you're never sure which message appears in Google. Sometimes it can be a really old message, and one that makes you look angry/unprofessional...

yeah. it would be better if you would have two twitter accounts-- one for your professional use (which you could place in your professional/hobby website) and the other one for personal tweeting. (use for personal blogs) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
