Hi,

I believe the importance of headers are quite important. We can have around 8 links in the h4 tag. Want to know how much weightage is actually being provided by google?

Thanks in anticipation..

You can of course believe whatever you choose to.

I can definitely confirm that it is ....

... somewhere between none and some.

Impressions and beliefs are good and all. However have you ever removed the hx from around that text and simply styled it via css, just to see if it's actually the header tags having an effect?

You'd probably be amazed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink1.gif)

That said, I do still use hx for styling, just because it's easier. Not to mention being good coding practice. Though I rarely if ever have a link in my headers.

I would guess that having a Hx as a link might pass a _very_ minimal added value in some SE's but I wouldn't use it solely for that reason, if at all. Chances are that it has no real effect. As a general rule of thumb Hx tags are for user readability and should be just as relevant as the rest of the content on that page. You wouldn't want to say "<h1>This Page Is About Cats</h1>" then later on say "<a><hx>Candy Corn Sales</hx></a>" because you thought it would rank the linked page better.

If it's relevant to the content of that page there shouldn't be any harm in doing it.

I am very sceptical of links within Hx tags. Even though there is a posssibility (open to much doubt) that there is some element of gain, there is also the possibility that the Algo doesn't like it and if not now, possibly in a future Algo tweak if spamers start utilising it.
