Hi, is there a way to disable google local map results from displaying?

From the serp. For example, if I search for ottawa pizza in google, I'd like to have the local links at the top disabled/filtered.

There's no way to do that to my knowledge gogoplata. After all it is Google's search engine, so they get to decide what to display.

Do you know you can display your site on that map by submitting it though Google Local Business Center ?

You might want to do that except of trying to convince Google that displaying their map is hurting your business.
There's no garantee your site will be in the fist 3 sites listed next to the map but at least, you'll be on it.

I think that's more important, cuz if I were looking for a pizzeria in ottawa, I'll try to call the one that's near home, so i'll use the map (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink1.gif)
