Google Analytics seems to have been updated/upgraded.
Someone please summarise the new features, what they are for, and what good they are.
Thank you

So far I can contribute that I like the 'compare two metrics' function.

{Randy I nominate you. Its about time you started sharing your data with ole' G! like everyone else.}

All I am seeing is the ability to compare metrics on one graph, neat but I have a bigger grip. Not sure why in the hell they dont allow one user login to have multiple dashboards. I would think they would fix this huge issue first.

Can't nominate me on this one Nethy! I don't run GoAn for any of my sites, so don't know it well.

I've been trying to work out several bugs in the new Urchin 6 that is much more like GoAn than was version 5, however there are remainning (significant) issues with Urchin 6. If I can't get 'em sorted out soon I'm going to stop being the beta testing guinea pig and move those couple of sites back to the old version that I know works. Or maybe I'll consider making them GoAn sites instead. Who knows. I'll decide on that question after the Christmas rush.

There is a writeup on the new feature at the Analytics Blog here: www.epikone.com/blog/2007/12/13/surprise-new-google-analytics-features/. This is a great source for GA information, I check it out often. He talks about the new feature, which is a multi-line graphing feature, as well as the new ga.js upgrade code which is now available. He also points to the official "Migration Guide" just put out by Google within the post which is very, very handy.

We're just logging into a couple of accounst now and I will play and see what I find - if there's anything that's very cool I'll be back (same as with anything that may make life harder!)

See you all later (IMG:style_emoticons/default/superman.gif)

Me too, I hope they take it further and allow side by side comparisons of more data - I'm sure there's loads that could be done with it.

The compare two metrics is nice but pretty limited.

It would actually be pretty useful if it did more then put them on a graph but actually worked out some extra 'one step further info':
- correlation
- abnormalities of segemnts (EG keyword.A- their is no correleation between bounce rate & conversion rate while all other keywords there is)

Now, I want to see a real upgrade- Custom segemnts.
& while they're at it - custom metrics.
And if we're going down that road, tear down the wall between, normal metrics, conversion metrics & Ecommerce metrics. They are all part of the same.

The site Jesse pointed out above, is indeed really great and useful if you're looking for information on Google Analytics. (I've made that live link to it, since Jesse isn't allowed to link yet! BTW, Jesse works for High Rankings if anyone was wondering.)

From my reading over there, they've basically implemented the new code you need to put on your pages if you want to view the new stuff. We'll be putting it on our new site, and we'll let you know how it works at some point.

No clue IH. I don't do GoAn, yet at least. Hopefully someone else will know the answer to your question.
