I love this forum! You all are so great and full of knowledge. I've learned a TON of great SEO info.
I'm curious, though, what is your desired method of billing your clients for your SEO services? Do you prefer a flat rate regardless of the size of the website? What do you do if a client says "my site is so much smaller than theirs, so why are you charging me the same???" ? Do you charge by the hour? Typically, how many hours do you spend on a client's site? Do you have a fee per service and charge based on the servie the client wants performed? Aren't a lot of clients un-aware of what they really need? Do you charge per web page you SEO, regardless of the time spent on the page? Thanks. Sorry if this was touched upon already...I could not find a post on this topic. |

I charge by the hour and bill weekly, but I let some of my clients wait until they've got three or four invoices before they cut me a check.

A bit off-topic, If you are using an online payment, I would recommend using Escrow. Now to answer the real question. I would provide a time estimate to the client along with a rate per hour/day. This way the client will know in advance how much it would take and you will retain the customer since he/she will be happy. |

I use Freshbooks to bill clients, and to record the work as I do it.
