When I search for a keyword (ie. blue cars), I only get to see the Google ads for advertisers that selected "Canada" as one of the countries they wanted to advertise in. Often I don't see a lot of the ads that really are out there.
Is there an easy way to see all the ads that are going on in the US Adwords market? (i've tried the google adsese preview tool - but it really doesn't work for my purposes) thanks in advance, Patrick |

That will make a difference right there I think. I am not 100% sure on that, but it was the first thing that popped into my head. There's also a tool called AdGooroo that allows you to see all competing ads, positions, coverage, etc., for a select group of keywords. It's kind of expensive if you're just looking for some general research, but if you need to know this kind of information consistently it's well worth the subscription. |

Since the serving of geolocated ads are based on IP, you will not see any ads that do not include Canada while surfing from a Canadian IP.
One quick way around this (I'm a Canadian with US clients, too) is to use a proxy that has a US IP. I use Megaproxy, myself. They have a free version that will get the job done for you. One day I'm going to sign up with them just so I can pay them - they have helped me many times (including getting to certain websites from inside China). Ian |

Actually, AdWords has a preview tool that allows you to define your location in the url. The adwords blog has instructions and a link to the tool here: http://adwords.blogspot.com/2006/09/view-w...ing-around.html

Thanks, Jeremy. I think someone else around here was recently asking about that preview tool. Will have to seek out that thread too!

Yep, Jeremy is correct.
The old way to do this (which still works and is sometimes quicker) is to append &gl=us to the URL in Google.com. You can also use other two letter country codes. Some examples: See ads for blue cars for where you are See ads for blue cars in the US See ads for blue cars in Canada See ads for blue cars in the UK |

I don't understand?
What is the advantage of switching proxy over the 'gl=' suffix? is it less accurate or something. I assumed that it was the same SERP either way |
