Is it possible to put a link on my product pages saying something like "Click here to add this product to your Del.icio.us Wishlist"? What would it take to code something like this in a standard webpage?
I've used a Wishlist module that worked well with my shopping cart (Miva) but I'm wondering if I can expand the wishlist option to include social bookmarking. Any thoughts? PS: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread. I figured this was a useability issue which is why I posted here. |

You can just put a link to del.icio.us, I guess. I suppose most people (at least if they're on their usual computer) log in automatically when they click a link to the default page.
Is the idea to tag items with a particular term so you know where to find it? |

Thanks, Qwerty. I found a java script code on del.icio.us to create a "Save to Del.icio.us" button and I might test it out on one or two pages to see what kind of results I get.
I was using a Save to Wishlist button and my customers liked that feature. But, I had some coding problems with that module so I had to disable it. Yesterday I was playing around on Del.icio.us and saw a Save to Wishlist feature so I thought the concept might work with my store giving my visitors an easy way to share their wishlist with others. But, I have no idea if my target market/visitors use Del.icio.us or not. So, the idea was to let my visitors tag my pages in their Del.icio.us wishlist. Has anyone tried this and can you think of any pitfalls? (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif) |

I can't think of any potential pitfalls as long as it's not something you're requiring or is creating friction for potential buyers Julie. If it's just an option, it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks, Randy. I think I'm going to test it on a few pages and see what happens. I'm up for a little adventure every now and then. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif)

I notice alot of article type sites have links to alot of social bookmarketing networks on their actual pages that display each article.
Do you know if there is any benefit or much benefit from doing this. Does people actually click on them links to bookmark the article and would there be much benefit from it. |
