Now we can finally have a description on Google that isn't 3 years outdated. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

speaking of MSN and this tag ...
i've noticed some already established sites losing descriptions and title information in MSN lately... so my question is: does anyone here think MSN search is primative enough so that.. if there is no odp listing to be fetched, it may very well (sometimes) serve no description and title at all in the SERP's, and simply display the bare url? the problem seems to be in and out.. meaning it comes and goes and does not happen across all search queries. but i wonder if inputting this tag would remedy it? or if it's simply just a glitch of a different type.. i'll input the tag anyway and see what happens. <on edit> i'm assuming this tag: <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP"> will work for both MSN and Google? </on edit> |

Yep, Ryan, it's the same tag for both.

I am very, very happy to see Google join the bandwagon. This is a major step in the right direction toward giving back control to Webmasters.

So when is Yahoo gonna allow you to opt out of them showing your Yahoo directory description.
Eh, Yahoo? You listening? |

Wouldn't it be nice if they just used the same tag, but applied it to their own directory snippets instead of ODP? It would make life so simple.
