I couldn't help it. Had to tell you. I found out tonight that I'm ranking #11 for one of my MAJOR keywords and #8 for a secondary key word. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/kicking.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/party.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/party2.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif)

Of course, that's on MSN, not Google or Yahoo. But Still! For such a competitive field I'm thrilled! I knew something was going on because business has suddenly increased in the last couple of weeks. So I went in search of the cause, checked my stats and logs, and Wallah! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

(IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/mf_bounce8.gif) I just want to celebrate! Celebrate! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/banana.gif)

(Don't worry, Jill, I'm not gonna get hung up on my rankings, just nice to know that targeted traffic may increase now. And it was everybody's help here that has gotten me this far.) Thanks! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/kicking.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/goodjob.gif)

Oh, and my next post will be #200!

Did you just get released from the sandbox? How old is the site from when they first indexed it?

Oh, and congrats! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif)

If you have to get hung on something, I'd say rankings is better than some other things people get hung up on.

And the timing probably couldn't be better for you. If my statistics are representative of what other sites are experiencing, MSN seems to be driving almost twice as much traffic as it was a month ago -- and Google has lost a corresponding amount of search traffic.

If Big Daddy continues to frustrate Google's users, I'd say that anyone who is ranking well on MSN will become very happy indeed, and that is something to celebrate. It's always good to have a fallback position.

Congratulations.

True. I was hung up on breeding Chia Pet Garfields for a while, but I quit it. Watching rankings is much more rewarding and my friends neighbors sometimes talk to me now.

Congrats redsonia (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/goodjob.gif) Keep up the good work.

Thanks, everybody! I'm still smiling! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif)

Michael, good to hear that MSN is driving more traffic lately. Maybe I'll get a greater increase in traffic than I was expecting. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/crossfingers.gif)

And Leann, I'll be getting in touch with you soon. My day job is keeping me bogged under and I'm leaving for spring break soon. Halleleujah! (We teachers look forward to spring break as much as the students do! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/kicking.gif) )

Oh, and Jill, I don't think I was just released from the sandbox. I was first indexed about a year and a half ago. (Aug, 2004).

congrats! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) however, as everyone knows, you can go up and down on any search engine. I was ranked #8 out of 70,000,000 on google for while and then I was pushed down, then up then down. Gotta keep up with the seo techniques

Not really as they don't change. But you do have to optimize for quite a variety of phrases so that when some go down the others go up, etc.

I'm celebrating again! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/kicking.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/banana.gif)

Just found out one of my MAJOR keywords for my toy site is #1 on MSN! Whoo Hoo! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/party.gif) (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

That makes 4 keywords that I know about in the top 20. Three for the gift site and one for the toy site.

(I know, I know, it's not Google or Yahoo, but it sure is nice to see my sites anywhere in the top 2 pages!)

And I'll stop at this point and no longer inform you everytime I get ranked! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/embarrassed.gif)

That's all good...but how's your traffic/sales doing? Has that increased proportionately to the rankings?

My sales have increased lately. Not as much as I would like, but the increase was obvious. That's why I went in search of my rankings, to see if that was what was causing the increase. I was checking my logs and saw referrals from MSN on certain search terms and, sure enough, I was ranking on those terms. Now I really need to work on getting links so I can get ranked in Yahoo and Google. I know that is the next major thing I need to spend time on, but time is in short supply this semester. Linking may have to wait until the end of school.
