A lot of tools/programms are mentioned everywhere in threads. Would it not be nice to mention at one place the tools that you guys use and recommend to others.

The tools I use are many and varied, but the ones I rely upon the most are:
Wordpad Wordtracker Digital Point's Keyword Suggestion Tool I occasionally use a number of spider-simulators, but none of them consistently. I occasionally log into Google's AdSense system and use their keyword tools. |

Not sure if it will come in handy for me yet or not. |

Hoy accurate, or of what relative usefulness, Do you think the SEO Research Labs Digital Point keyword suggestion tools has? (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/)

Well, no guru me - more of a Svengali, if you catch my drift.
http://www.wmsconsulting.com.au/2007/05/01...seo-conference/ is a list (with minimal comments) of the tools available. I use a few of them, usually more to save time writing reports than because they are requireed or even helpful for the self service types. I think most of the tools I'm using have been mentioned. In no particular order:
Keyword discovery Google Analytics NetTracker Google Website Optimizer Webmaster Tools (Google) Google Trends and the Live equivalent Illustrator Photoshop Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7. Firefox with various plug ins / toolbars: Web Developer, Google Toolbar, Search Status, User agent switcher. Textpad (it's a beefed up notepad) Excel Word Apache / MySQL / PHP pen and paper and my brain. |
