After reading thru this forum it is amazing to see how many press release sites there are. Is there any reason to submit to more than one site? We have been using PrWeb exclusively.

Personally, I think it is better to use more than one site for your press releases. The idea is to get exposure, targeted exposure if possible. Some websites or "hubs" will publish press releases even though they are not necessarily "press release sites" like PRWeb. These are usually human edited and while tougher to get published on, the traffic to those sites is probably more targeted (assuming you are choosing the right kinds of sites).

Do you have any contacts with the media, local magazines, television, newspapers, etc.? There are many many avenues for press release distribution and often it's more a matter of who you know than anything else.

I used PRWeb for my own press release a while back and it actually generated some excellent exposure for me. My release ended up getting fed into Canada Newswire and I have a feeling it was through PRWeb (but can't be certain).

HTH.

It depends. If the ones you're finding get picked up by different places than the one you already submitted to, then it might be helpful. But if they're getting picked up by the same places, I don't think it would do much good.

What about many recipients getting a "spammy" feeling when they receive more then one press release?

You can't really do this after the fact peterson. You have to have a system set up prior to sending out your press release that allows you to do some tracking. Then use this special url address in your press release.
