What is the single most important/effective way to increase your ranking level? I just want to hear in detail what you guys/gals find most effective for a new site looking to get up in the ranks. I would imagine some of you have your favorite things you do time after time first and formost when launching a site. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks a bunch and great site! (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif)

What is the most important ingredient in spaghetti marinara? The Spaghetti? No? The Prawns, oysters, tomatoes, olive oil? Or is it a case that without anyone the dish is different?

IMHO, there is no "What is the single most important/effective way to increase your ranking level", and you need to look long and hard at what your objectives are, and how you can best achieve them.

I just simply thought there must be "one" that everyone prefers. You know...there must be I dont think it is that complex. Maybe if you want the ultimate results but I just want your opinions on what you think is most effective for you rather than reading till my eyes fall out.

PS: do you have any suggestions even if just "one"?

If a football team has a start quarterback then people may think that the quarterback is the most important team member but in reality if his linemen do not protect him, he is going to be eating grass everytime. the offence can also score touchdown after touchdown but if the defense doesn't stop the other team from doing the same, what good is it going to do?

Same goes for search engine marketing as many things play a roll in a successful campaign.

For one of my major keywords I was on page 17 (on google) without putting much effort into ranking. Frankly, I didn't care about ranking. Then one day I decided to get on page one. I did one simple thing. I changed my page title. Within three days, I was on page 5. Then I decided to add keywords to my site. Within a month I landed on page 2.

My site has been on the internet for years and that probably added to the fact that I moved up so quickly while only doing on page optimization. I don't believe this is the"single most important/effective way to increase your ranking level" but that is my story. And since I'm not on page one then I obviously have more work to do.

That's easy.

The single best way to increase your ranking is to read until your eyes fall out.

It's easy to think of the single most important thing to increasing your rank.

I've seen it mentioned here in this forum lots of times, and it's no secret.

Content!

If the content on your website is great, unique, quality and in demand, then you will naturally rise in the ranks.

This is because people will want to visit your site, use your site, link to your site, tell their friends about your site, and so forth.

While other things are important, without content, your website would be pretty pathetic.

Thanks to the non moderators for your assistance and input I appreciate it. As far as the mods go...why cant you just simply say something like this... "well you know there is one thing that "helps alot" and that is my input. Rather than beating around the bush it would be much more helpful for some answers rather than cynical replies.

So thats my tip to you guys and this forum now can you offer some advice in what this whole site circulates around...search engine positioning?

I concure with this also but it has been a few years since my last successful launch of a site...which I might add was EXTREMELY successful reaching uniques of and excess of 3 million a month. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) But again that was because of the content being in huge demand. (not xxx)

But in years past by I thought things may have changed and looked for some tips from the pros in this. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh. LOL. My virgin eyes! Sometimes I'm suprised by my niavete.

When you mention that you had 3 million unique visitors per month because of your content, do you mean you had lots of content and lots of pages?

No the content drove visitors in the millions to the site not the amount of pages but mostly the product and software I offered at the time. (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
