We at Keyword Discovery have recently added a new feature, Keyword Directory that lists the actual keywords that drive traffic to site based on their DMOZ site category classification.

I hope you find this useful. Feedback is always welcome.

Cheers
David

Hi David, That's an interesting tool. Where does the data come from?

The data is from a number of search engines that track the keyword searches and the site that receive clicks from these respective searches.

We then crunch and sort the data based on the sites category and present the top keywords for each category.

This way we provide an overview of what search terms drive the most traffic to sites within a particular dmoz category.

Soon to be added to this service is the ability to narrow done to a single URL.

Cheers
David

It does have a limited but free version that you can use as much as you like.

And I know I am a touch biased, but good keyword research tools are worth it.

Anyone know why the results might fluctuate with wordtracker?

for keyword italy travel on Keyworddiscovery im seeing 1 647 000
and for overture i'm seeing 520 000

But, with a different keyword this phenomenon seems to be reversed? (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif)

for keyword nile cruise on keyworddiscovery im seeing 15 000
and for overture i'm seeing 33 000

I can understand that the numbers would be completely different depending on where the data is coming from, but, why would it be reversed depending on the keyphrase? Am I not seeing something simple here? (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Based on KeywordDiscovery data we split the search counts based on actual searches:
travel italy 1,647,226
italy travel 304,785

With Overture they group both search phrases: "travel italy" and "italy travel" and provide a single combined search count:
travel italy 520,176

as for the other term "nile cruise"

Overture does the same thing and merges "nile cruise" and "cruise nile" and then also all the plurals, such as "nile cruises" and "cruises nile" to give a group total.

Keyword Discovery does not do this, and hence provide more accurate counts of actual searches.

Cheers
