Welcome, Ramachandra (IMG:http://www.highrankings.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/hi.gif)
You can link to a Google search. There's nothing wrong with that, as far as I know. I don't know what keyword you plan on putting in the anchor text, and whether that keyword is going to actually describe the search you're linking to, though. The big question, however, is why you want to link to a site: search on Google. What do you think the benefit of doing this is going to be, both to you and your users? If you think it's going to help you get pages indexed or improve your site's rankings, I can't see how. |

Google doesn't cach its own SERP's like it does 'certain' other search engines.

Some people have tried to use this method to increase their link popularity. I've heard of only limited success with the practice. It can help one engine to crawl pages that another engine has indexed first.
People seem to be having better luck with scraping, although that may have changed in the last month or two. Hard to say at this early point in time, given the large number of changes Google is introducing. This post has been edited by Michael Martinez: May 6 2005, 01:10 PM |

Thank you very much for the replies.
I have noticed that, since i have kept the google linking page, our webpages of the site are indexed afresh. The links have been updated and cached with the new date. Otherwise, the google spider was not updating those pages untill now. ANy other ways, to improve Google ranking? I have modified keyword density(lessened) and some more in Meta Tags etc... This effected my ranking in MSN, It actually slipped. v For a particular keyword, my site stands in 4th position in MSN. But now its 10th. I was trying to optimise my site for Google search engine too. Hence this slip... SO should i revert back to my previous coding or try and look for the update from google? |

SO should i revert back to my previous coding or try and look for the update from google? Rankings will go up and down in any given engine at any given time, regardless of what you do on your site. The idea is to not be attached to any one phrase, but have your entire site optimized for hundreds of relevant phrases. This way the normal everyday ups and downs of rankings will have no effect on your traffic and sales. For tips on optimizing, please read the articles posted in the Tips for Newbies thread. |

Otherwise, the google spider was not updating those pages untill now. That sounds purely coincidental to me. Based on your current rankings, it sounds like your site is probably fairly well optimized. Since the search engines already know what your site is about, work on making the site more important for those terms. That's done through link building. |
