Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there are any seo specific project management software products out there that would allow scheduling of projects, timelines, PPC taks etc...? I know MS project does some stuff, but is there anything SEO specific?

Thanks

Adam

I think WebCEO does some of that stuff, but I'm not positive.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but there are several types of project management systems
  • Critical Path / Critical Chain Scheduling - These are designed to define logic networks for planned tasks and produce time phased schedules for organizing/prioritizing the work. MS Project falls in this group.
  • Calendar Based Systems - These are calendar based task organizers like electronic versions of a Franklin Planner.
  • Collaboration Based Systems - These often resemble a mix of calendar based systems, a forum and a document management system. They are designed to allow a project team to coordinate projects where the scope of work is more fluid.
If you are looking for a system that helps manage human resources amongst multiple projects, you should look for an enterprise project management system. These are designed to manage resource pools across separate projects.

These are two pretty comprehensive directories of project management software:

Web based systems - http://www.web-based-software.com/
Windows based systems - http://home.houston.rr.com/interplan/ (this is my own hobby directory)

Your best bet is to define the features that you require and then search for the package that addresses those needs. There is a lot of variety out there.

Nice list Bernard.

There are some SEO Project Management apps out there, I think most are not available to the public though. I developed one completely from the ground up, and its probably the best one you will find today. It even allows you to download complete optimizations and catalog everything from metas to keywords and submissions. http://www.turbopromoter.com

Web CEO in my opinion is not SEO project management, while good program, not completely good for entirely if your are managing SEO clients.

Hi Pheonix, thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like you are describing a combined business managment/CRM and document management system more so than a classical project management system.

Hi Owen,

I took at look at Basecamp from 37signals and although I quite liked the concept, I felt it was too geared towards web development.

I'm thinking as there doesn't appear to be a straight forward out-of-the-box solution I may go down the 'building one in-house' as I have the development resource. I just didn't want to re-invent the wheel if one was out there already.
