Can anyone tell me where to find data related to search engine traffic month to month?

Welcome, Catherine! :raspberry:

If you can view your server logs, you can see the traffic your site is getting on a daily basis, weekly basis, monthly basis and yearly basis.

:raspberry: Thanks, Jill. I do have that information. What I need to know is overall traffic to the search engines themselves. I am thinking it is proprietary, but hopefully there are some research/stat organizations out there (like Nielsen) that have compared the popularity of search engines. Primarily, I am looking for a comparison of July to August 2003. I have checked Nielsen, Media Metrix/Comscore/Jupiter, etc. with no luck. Any ideas?

I don't recall seeing anything like that done on a rolling monthly basis Catherine. However Danny Sullivan did publish an article over at Search Engine Watch which gives a snapshot of what you're looking for earlier this year.

You might want to check out these two URL's:

http://searchenginew...cle.php/2156451
http://www.searcheng...cle.php/2156461

It may be a little dated, but I think if you're looking for anything more up to date you'd probably have to contract with the Nielsen folks to do a study.

The esteemed Mr. Sullivan is a member here, so perhaps he will be able to offer more enlightenment as to how relevant the numbers from the article are today. If I had to guess I'd say they're still pretty solid as a general rule.
