Hi,
I hope someone can help me answer this question (probably very simple).
I have a website ( www.javajunkie.co.uk ) which is aimed at all ages but particularly the younger age groups, probably from about 13 upwards. On my links page, one of the links is to a site that has online games, but also some adult content of a very mild nature ( Kontraband.com ). I wonderded whether parental control packages installed on PC's will see the link to kontraband and stop the user being able to view my site...?
Thanks in advance...and sorry if it's a silly question..

Hi Andrew, welcome
IMO you should remove the link right away, as you run the risk of being tarred by the same brush. ou obviously have concerns so why take a chance?
Another option would be to have a page for mildly offensive links like age limited games sites etc where they are meant for a6+ or whatever. at least this way, the only stuff that might get filtered will be the stuff that deserves it, and not your links to Cosmopolitan makeover online pages and the like.

Thanks Oldwelshguy,
I think I'll remove the link.....
On another note, I paid someone to optimise the site for me. Is there any software I can run the URL through to check that the job has been done properly and that there is nothing in it that could go against me...?
Thanks again...

Welcome andrews!
It shouldn't matter what the parental control packages do. The fact is that you shouldn't be linking out to adult content on a site that is targeted for kids.
That's just not smart.
Remember you don't HAVE to link to every site that wants to exchange links with you. Never link to any site that isn't going to be something very useful to your site visitors.

Hmmm... I don't think it's quite that easy.
I seem to remember a thread recently that discussed how to find spam on your website, but I can't find it right away. Perhaps have a through look using the forum search function and, if you can't find anything useful, please return here and ask again and I'll set aside time for a proper hunt!
