Sounds like the .info is a mirror of .com site. If that's the case then Google probably wouldn't rank both sites because you've got duplicate content.

I would have setup 301 redirect on the .com site going to .info site (let's spiders know that .info is replacing the .com site)

As far as Google notifying if you've violated their rules...no, they don't but I don't think that you've been dropped because you've still got a Page Rank.

Is it just me, or is it getting cooler in the evenings...?

a bit more light,

I have received a reply from the nice people @ google, who tell me that the site is not penalised, and that it does appear in the directory, and the database.

Somehow only the front page is missing, all other pages are still there? wierd :-)

for the record, I have not forwarded either domain, but i have the domains mapped to the same IP address so i guess they are mirrored.

If ever there was a case for making sure that ALL pages of the site THIS is it. the site appears #4 for one of the terms 'akita information' on the natural text content (and the lack of competition).

It is only the front page that is missing from google I cant work that out, and there is no mention of it in the e mail, so i guess the message is,

Don't map domains to the same IP, use 301 forwarding.

Dont fail to optimise ALL the pages in the web.

Finally, Don't think you are alone when you have friends like us
