I am a newbie so apologies if this has been covered before

All the tools I have found for keyword placings are using the "main" search engines sites eg www.google.com rather than www.google.co.nz

Is there anything out there where you can be more specific?

I also need to regularly check placings on NZ specific search engines/directories like www.searchnz.co.nz and www.accessnz.co.nz - any ideas?
