Hi all,
Do any of you have any stats about how long it normally takes for a site/update to appear on the various search engines after the spiders have done the rounds?
I'm noticing a lot of spider activity from the google bot and yahoo bot yet updates take ages to appear on the index. Is there anyway of speeding up this turnaround time?
Tom

No stats, but on the couple of sites I check occasionally for things like that it's 2 or 3 days. It will depend on far too many things to even worry about.
which datacentre the results went to,
when that one is synched up,
which datacentre the results came from,
when that one synch's up.
Nothing I can change so why spend (waste) a lot of time checking.
speeding up the turnaround time is the same. It will be in a database at the SE, then appear when they sync up.

Do you know of any sources that detail the inner workings of google datacenters and such?
It probably can't help my rankings, but would make an interesting read anyway.

You've probably got more chance of meeting Eccentrica Gallumbits, the Triple-Breasted Whore of Eroticon Six, than you have of finding a genuine source detailing the workings of the Googleplex.
