Is there a way to have two different sites using IIS? I know you can have virtual folders but I am looking to have two domains forwarded to the servers address. When one is typed in you get one page and when the other is typed in you get there other. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. Long night at work.....

Yes. You create the new site, then go into properites and you can edit the IP, host headers, etc.

Gatorhardware,

I believe that this actually depends on the version of Windows being used. IIS on Windows 2000 Pro only supports 1 site, while Windows 2000 Server supports multiple sites. I suspect this also applies to XP Pro / Server 2003, but I cannot be sure, since I do not have access to a copy of Server 2003... (If anyone have a spare CD & license, I would be *happy* to verify this for my fellow forumates. wink.gif

Unless I am overlooking something it will not let me create a new site. I am using Windows XP Pro IIS 5.1. Any thoughts?

I'm afraid you would be stuck with one main site and maybe some sub-sites in that case. You need to switch to Windows Server to get more sites.

Or install Apache.... wink.gif

also just to note;

The "Pro" versions of 2000 and XP will only allow 10 concurrent connections to the OS.
And Server 2003 can be a real pain to install in a network with an existing Win 2k AD network. ranting.gif

All the more reason to go with a L.A.M.P. setup over a W.I.S.A. (Windows, IIS, SQL Server, ASP) setup.

WISA... Sounds like something my 19 month-old would utter. Funny that, eh? wink.gif
