Rapid Dns: The Effects On Seo And Ses In General
Posted 07 August 2004 - 10:03 PM
To start with a very basic set of observations, it would seem that two big changes are going to need to happen with SEs.
1. The spiders need to get a LOT quicker as do the parsing algos that actually stick material in the indices. Otherwise, the potential for lots of 404s exists.
2. The SEs need to get a LOT smarter with regards to detecting and foiling spamming, since domain hopping will now be trivial (especially for spammers with hundreds or thousands of registered domains to choose from). Add in the fact that spiders will have to speed up, and you could even be talking about a situation where we have near-realtime se spamming!

I would have thought that any spammer who starts moving domains around every few hours just to get some dubious gain would soon have a very p***ed off registration agent.
