I had paid about a year back to insite.lycos.com to receive distribution in the following search engines
FAST Index: Lycos, Excite, HotBot, Infospace, AllTheWeb
Inktomi Index: HotBot, MSN, About, Overture
The site has many incoming links now, with ranking fluctuating between 9'th to 15'th position on google for most imp. single word keyword. I personally dont see any point in paying anymore (assuming the SEs will continue to keep the site in their index). Any opinions?

Paid search engine programs (non-ppc) have been money losers for me. Planning to let mine drop, too.

Part of what you were paying for was the Inktomi program which doesn't exist any more. So you're already out of that. Lycos was a separate program and there's really no need to pay for that one any more.

Paid press(40$ level) release in prweb is enough for getting into all the SE's
