Hi,

I got some awful news the other day! My virtual assistant decided she wants to focus solely on proofreading. Now I don't have anybody to do the other admin stuff.

Anybody know of a VA who has a brain in his/her head and who also has reasonable rates? I've found a couple of people, but they came across as rather "ditzy" to me. Made me nervous.

Thanks!
Karon

Yeah, I know about those. Thanks for reminding me. I was kinda hoping to get some personal recommendations instead of having to trudge through all 50,000 VAs in the directory ;)

Karon,

What will be the duties of the VA you are looking for?

Isn't one of the members of the forum a VA? I think she even runs a VA forum herself. I just wish I could remember her name.

Ah, there we go: Tawnya

I don't know if a member is a VA. That would be cool.

As for duties... things like:Answer my email when I can't.

Provide quotes based on information/price structure I provide.

Do light HTML duties like putting my HTML newsletter together (with text I provide and a template I provide).

Make minor changes to my sites.

Do research online for various things.

Make client contacts.

Then the only questions are how many hours a week do you need on average and how much per hour are you willing to pay?

I don't think Scottie was referring to you.

For clarification sake we are going to have to agree upon a convention for naming us. Either you are Qwerty or Bob or I'm Compar or Bob. I think QWERTY is much more elegant that Compar. So I think you should always be QWERTY and I will vacillate between Bob and Compar. Is that a deal?

Ok by me, Bob. I never liked the name very much myself. I've gotten used to the fact that everyone I know whose native language isn't English refuses to call me that. I'm not just Bob. I'm B, Robert, Robertik, Robertiku, qwerty, qwert, q, and numerous others. I won't miss being Bob at all :P

Oh, and I wasn't responding to Scottie's post, I was just copying its style. I know you're the Bob she was referring to.

OK, Bobs and Scottie and everyone else...

I don't know how many hours a week. It won't be a lot. My ezine goes out every two weeks and it may take an hour each time. The other stuff is sporatic so I can't really say 10 hours a week or anything like that.

Karon,

You don't need a VA. You need a wife. You know; jump when needed and no promise of pay.

I'm not married. But the lady I live with and I often joke that what we need is a "wife".
