Hello all, my first post here and SO excited.....

Anywho, we are currently building out 70 sites for a corporation and all franchises. One of their major concerns is SE visibility (go figure). As part of the package I will be doing the SEO and SES for the site's, as well as, Paid Inclusion through Lyco's insite inclusion with Fast and Inktomi.

My ultimate question is this. Given the nature of a brand new web presence, will listing on all the affiliate SE's add PageRank to these sites? It's not that I'm relying on it, I will also be managing all links from organizations they are members of, BBB, CoC, and professional, each other, corporate...etc.

If this is an ignorant post I appologize, as I've only been doing this for about six weeks, and have yet to experience the inclusion aspect of the beast.

 It's Friday, have a beer on me!

Welcome, Andy! :aloha:

Not quite sure I understand your question, so let me restate what I think you might be asking.

Are you asking if your links in Lycos, Inktomi, AltaVista, etc., will count towards your Google PageRank?

If so, then I believe the answer is no.

What will count, however, are links from directories (as opposed to search engines). Places like Yahoo, Dmoz, JoeAnt, etc.

If you're asking something else, please tell me again and I'll see if I can better answer it!

Thanks Jill,

You summed it up nicely as that was exactly what I was asking. I did fail to mention that we were also doing the Yahoo directory inclusion, and I assumed the other directories as a given for any SEO.

Thanks again for your help, and more importantly thanks for having such an awsome forum as a resource for the rest of us. You ROCK!

I believe the Inktomi listing does help the Google PR, at least in the link popularity factoring that is part of it.
It may not factor as high as Dmoz, Yahoo and JoeAnt but it does have a weighting.
