I have read all about how great Word Tracker is, but they do not plan on creating a product for Mac users. Anyone know of a good similar product that can be used on OS 10?

They *don't*? Well, fie on them!
I thought it was a web-based interface. Hm. The trial was...

There don't seem to be any other products; WordTracker Is It. That's a dilemma, though.

(I'm not a Wordtracker user, but I'm an OS X user, thought not exclusively-- I demo'd Wordtracker from a PC, so I didn't notice whether it was cross-platform compatible or not.)

I did a search in their knowledge base for both "mac" and "macintosh". No results for either one.

I'm not aware of any problems with running it on a Mac (but I'm not aware of much regarding Macs).

If it's a web-based thing, as it really seemed to me to be, it should work on a Mac without a problem.

Know what, I'll test it tonight on my OS X boxen. Might as well...

Well, I'm not surprised. Not too many things are geared toward Macintosh. I did send them an email asking whether or not they were going to create a Mac version, but received a flat out no...

If anyone ever comes across anything for keyword tracking, or similar software or internet based apps for Macintosh, I'd REALLY appreciate a quick note.

still searching...

Thanks so much to all who've posted replies! :whip:

Well, what exactly did they say when you asked? Did they actually tell you that it won't work on a Mac? (If we can save Dragonlady her hard-earned $6, it would be nice.)

I believe Click Tracks offers two versions. A PC, on your hard drive application and a web-based version.

Don't take it for granted that the web-based version is cross platform. Even though it is on the internet, it is still a software application of some sort.

For instance the company I use for sending my newsletter provides a web-based application for me to use to create the newsletter. They STRONGLY recommend using a PC and provide no Mac support what so ever.

Whether this is not wanting to hire extra personnel to support the Mac or if the web-based application makes unique PC-type calls to your computer, I do not know.

An old Mac, yes. Actually, the older ones that don't run X are better as aquariums than computers.

But, I've never once wanted to take a hammer to my Mac. I actually did repeatedly smack the monitor of my PC over the two years I had it. (Before that, I threw multiple tantrums at the one I had for 3 years before it. And before that... well, I hated that freaking 486.)

Yes, I'm quite confused. Did you go to their website, try to use their product, and find yourself unable to do so? I was just going to go check out their demo and see if that would run on my Mac; I haven't got any keyword research to do just now so I don't really want to buy a subscription.
I don't really understand what there is to not run on a mac. I'll have to go check...

Don't Macs have some setting that allows them to emulate other operating systems? Back when I thought of myself as a VB programmer (yeah, right) someone who was pushing me to get a Mac insisted it could do anything a pc could do, just by switching it to a pc-esque mode.

>PC emulators

Augh! VirtualPC. My boyfriend uses it all the time-- he's a software developer and works completely on Mac, but they need to do stuff for PC users sometimes.
Makes your computer so... slow...
I don't think it's cheap, either.

One of my designer partners runs Windows 2000 in parallel to his Mac OS.... like, running in a window on top of his Mac interface.

When I asked him about it he said it was the full version not an emulater. As I didn't care less about at the time I've forgotten all about it but I'll me talking to him soon so I'll ask about it.
