I just happened to click on the Similar Pages link in a Google Search and couldn't for the life of me understand the results.

You get the same set of results if you do a Google search for related:www.mydomain.com

Try it on one of your sites. Can anyone explain the logic, if any, in what you see? Or is it only the peculiarity of the sites I was checking.

Most of the results I see on a related: search are DMOZ/Google directory listings that are either in the same category as the site referenced or related via some keywords to the site referenced.

I found this link on google http://www.google.co...es.html#related

This seems to explain it.

It looks like that if you find a website with an interesting topic and you would like to research it further. the Similar Pages link finds more sites with the same topic.

But I guess you already worked this out. I'm just leading up to an idea... and this idea is; can the results shown from Similar Pages give away a small part of how googles algorithm works in regards to how it judges how one website has relevent content to another?
