Kinda strange, huh? Maybe someone from LS slapped that editor around for allowing anything I'm associated with to be added! :dance:

So what does it mean when it says "unpublished" like for the forum link? It's obviously showing up.

Nice of Aspen to submit those articles of mine.

here it is:

When would I mark a site as unpublished?
Under most circumstances, sites should be left published. Sites that are marked unpublished will not be displayed on LookSmart.com or on our partners like Microsoft's MSN, Excite@Home, and Time Warner.

You might want to unpublish sites that are marked unresponsive if you think they are unlikely to be become responsive in the future, such as sites with 404 error messages. Sites with a Server Not Responding error are more likely to return and don't need to be marked unpublished. Zealbot, our automated link-checker, will try to revive those sites.

Sites that are marked unresponsive by Zealbot are automatically changed to an unpublished status to prevent an excessive amount of inactive links from appearing on LookSmart and our partners' sites. Additionally, LookSmart editors sometimes need to mark sites as unpublished or under construction if they are not ready to be displayed to the public.

Sites marked unpublished are displayed on the Manage Category page, but are not displayed on the Preview Category page.

Basically, it means that it was added to the directory, and then removed. In this case, removed because an editor decided to take it out, as opposed to situations like the site being unresponsive (in which case it could get back in if their spider finds that it's ok in the future).

>Make it so!

Workin' on it! I just don't think I have anything so innately useful to say that ODP will add me of its own accord. :cheers:

>slapped that editor around

I'm getting a very odd picture of directories, here...

So then, five listings were fine but a sixth is ... what?

<grin>

Ah, well, who knows.
