I recently got an answer from Google on a question I took with me to San Jose last month. This question was one that a forum member asked -
Question - Why doens't Google show backlinks in PR order?
Answer - "Because reporting backlinks in PR order takes resources, and it
wouldn't help our (ordinary, non-SEO) users at all, as far as we can
tell."

Makes sense to me. In fact, I have to wonder whether anyone outside the web biz ever runs a link: query at all. I doubt they'd see any use for it, much less seeing any ranking order for the results.
So why didn't I think of that when the question was first asked?

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I did tell Compar, who asked the question.

Debra,
Thanks for taking those questions to Google. It can be very difficult getting Google to answer sometimes.
You're doing great!
