Branding A Directory

I have started a directory, a Web Standards Compliant Websites directory.
Problem is that only Valid HTML/XHTML and CSS sites will be accepted. I know it is going to be a small directory, but with good quality sites.
My questions are:
How do I spread the word that there is a directory for standards compliant websites?
How do I make people understand that compliant sites are better?
If anyone wants to get involved please PM me. I would like to improve it but i don't stand a chance alone. Linking back is not required, as i didn't make it to get PR or backlinks.
PM for the url of the directory.
Regards,
Razvan

The fact you do not want a backlink is MAJOR as it sets you apart from a lot of directories so make that right near the top of the page like:-
'A new standards compliant resource with no backlinks required. We are building a resource, NOT a directory for PR.'
This 'should set you apart. ASK them to forward it on to as many likeminded individuals as they can. That should be a good way to start a viral marketing campaign.

For the moment i'm looking for people with PHP skills who would like to help me modify the script. It is very bad written. I've managed to use mod_rewrite, but not the way i wanted to.
it should be like this:
/Business/Business-to-Business
not like this
/Business-to-Business

Razvan, You mean validation at w3c? Many good content websites that I see are not validated.
I rarely do it for the websites I work on(may be, I am wrong). I always see some errors for not using alt attribute for spacers etc.. Just avoiding those in my current works. Have been working for the past 5 years. But, never concentrated much on that as I have to take care of multiple things.
A good author in some subject simply puts his work together using some authoring tools. They dont know about the validation thing.
Rare thing..Why have you choosen this criteria for the directory listing..
