Google (and the other spiders) have been going through my forum a lot since I put up the mod_rewrite mod. Google alone has used up 43 Megs of bandwidth in the past three days and my question is this: How long does it take to get from spidering to inclusion in the database?

I'm eager to transfer my bandwidth bill to my adsense account. ;)

Make that 2,000 pages and 46 MB... Google is really blasting through it fast...

I always used to think that new pages get added after about 4 weeks, but I've been adding some new pages to my site and they've been appearing on Google as quickly as 3 days, but others are taking more time.

Don't forget that you will sometimes see them added quickly, and then be gone again for a few weeks or so. If that happens, don't worry about it!

I won't get worried if they disappear for a while... I guess we get enough of those posts here without mine.

BTW, I am about to graduate from the ethical SEO school... I am about to change all of my filenames from poultry-links, poultry-articles, poultry-help, etc. to links, articles, help, etc.

Of course, there is always higher education...

Thanks for the info!

What's unethical about having the filename poultry-articles or poultry-help?

It's open, visible to all and clearly defines what the page will be about. Granted that in the greater scheme of things filenames have a very small impact from an SEO perspective, but it's not unethical.
