Howdy everyone!

I have been contemplating making some design changes to a site I am working on and have been wondering about something ("Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?").

Basically, I am wanting to insulate the content of a site from those (besides myself) who might want to add to or change the content of some parts of the site and have decided that the easiest way to do this is by using XML data islands and allowing others to only edit the XML file itself.

However, I want to make sure that there are no problems with how G, Y! and others view & crawl this content, since it is somewhere between static and dynamic content.

Has anyone had any specific experiences with this, what were the results, what kinds of hurdles were encountered and how were they resolved?

Thanks a bunch!

(Jill: love your forums! They really rock!) :hmm:

Hey GW-

Gonna need more detail than that... what exactly are you trying to accomplish? Who is editing your content?

The people who are going to be adding the content are people that I work with. These people are a little overwhelmed by most web technologies (HTML, CSS, etc). I chose to take this route because I can create my own tagging scheme, which is more human readable (the XML is not going to be terribly complex) to minimize confusion.
