Good idea. Thanks.
My advice would be to spend a few months money on a good seo report, then set about doing what is in there. At the same time you will be learning how to optimise basic pages, and you can read up on stuff on the job so to speak.

Unless by "update" you mean asking about a status request for the second time, that's not right, OWG. The guidelines state
I go there, submit and forget. easy as that, no point in worrying, there are far better things to spend your time on than going bak and asking, especially as they have now changed the request for update in resource zone from one month to six months
But how many times have you had to ask twice? Submit, wait a month (I swear it used to be two), check to see if the listing is up. If not, check in the RZ, and they tell you either 1) it's in the queue, 2) it's been moved to another cat and it's queued there, 3) it's been moved to another cat and it's listed already, 4) they lost it and I should resubmit, or 5) forget it, it's a hopeless case.
Wait at least one month after you last (not first time) submitted your site to start a thread here asking about its status.
Wait at least six months after first inquiring here about your site to inquire again.
I've never had to ask twice, as far as I can recall, so waiting six months before asking again is a non-issue.
