Please can you give me some advise or point me in the direction of existing postings.
I require a little advice on a particular issue and was unable to search it out on this site.

I have a client and they have 3 domains the first of these domains is with the companies’ original web design company and to transfer it could create problems.

The domain in question is just forwarding on to the new domain that is hosting the website.

I have asked if I can add a duplicate home page for this URL that would replace the forwarding page in the hope that it can improve the sites position in Google and others.
I was advised by this hosting company that Google would see it as 1 page web site and it would not help me achieve better rankings. Is this correct?

I would like to add that I am also working on the optimisation of the site and do not hope to race up the rankings by adding this page. But I feel that it is creating problems for me that I am unaware of.

Many thanks

Dean Bailey

Welcome Dean! ;)

Please do a forum search for "domain forwarding" and "permanent redirects" to find a wealth of info on this. I'm going to close this thread because I'm positive this has been covered extensively here.

Jill
