My site is listed allright in the dmoz directory, but not in the Google directory. But as I understand it, it is the same thing? So how is this possible? Is this again a question of Google only showing sites with a certain PageRank?

An additional question:
Checking for backlinks in comparison with my competitors, it often shows that they are listed in numerous (a lot actually) versions of dmoz - like dmoz.de, dmoz.uk, dmoz.ca etc. etc. AND in a lot of directories with various strange names apparently all based on the dmoz directory. As all these listings all end up in a large number of backlinks, I would like to know, how one can achieve that? :D

If you try to make a submit but already being in the directory, I guess one would get blacklistet (or at least not achieving anything)? Any advice?

It may sometimes take time for Google to update its directory. As soon as it updates, you will see your site there.

Dmoz.de, Dmoz.uk etc. are for region specific sites. As far as I know, you can have your site listed in both the local and the general categories (if applicable).

Hi Farhan,

Yeah - I realize that, but it has been like this for 2-3 month (but then again, I'm not the most patient person in the world, so maybe I just have to wait  )

Dmoz.de, Dmoz.uk etc. are for region specific sites.

Maybe so, but the sites I am refering to (my competitors) are all danish sites, so what are they doing in the dmoz.de, dmoz.uk etc? And more importantly: How do they get there?
