Domain Mapping

Hello

I have been searching this forum for redirects but cant figure out my problem.

i have a website called aclass-hotel....dk and i want my vistor only to type aclass...dk

My hosting company have something which is called domain mapping mapping. I have here typed in www.aclass... I have to questions.

1. is this domain mapping SE friendly?

2. Which site should i exchange links with? aclass-hotel or aclass ?

I'm not sure I follow you Henrik.

If your mapping is set up to www.aclass, and not aclass-hotel or www.aclass-hotel, you still have two sites, correct? Or is there also some type of forwarding sending eveyone from www.aclass to the aclass-hotel domain?

If I'm reading it correctly, I think you may be missing a step in there somewhere.

As to your question, Domain Mapping can be SE Friendly, depending upon how it's done. You would need to take a look at the Headers the server sends when one of the alternate domains is retrieved. IMO, the best is a 301 Permanent Redirect since that method allows you to better control which domain the search engines see as the real one.

Point incoming links to whichever domain is going to be the real one. That'll be most advantageous across the board for all search engines.
