Hi, I'm looking for some webhosting for a friend and his site needs a hosting company that has Windows servers that supports ASP, MSSQL, (hopefully) multiple domains, and has enough webspace and transfer for under $100 a year (his site doesn't need a whole lot of space/bandwidth as it is a fairly new site, although it is growing). Is anyone able to give a referral or point me in the right direction? I'd really like to help him out in this area but I don't know of a hosting company off the top of my head that offers the above hosting features. I myself am a PHP/MySQL guy so I don't really pay attention to the Windows world... Any help is appreciated.

Wowzee - that would be extremely cheap for Windows, especially with the MSSQL db in there - turn him away from the dark side and show him the light with PHP :notworthy:

Seriously ... if he does manage to find something at that price (doubtful) i'd check out customer reviews for it first of all as that would be cheap for a Windows package with those features.

Sorry I can't be of any more help!

You might want to take a look at the WebHostingTalk Forums Farmernate.

As Rob said, I'm not sure you're going to find anything in that price range, but if you look in their Shared and Reseller Hosting Offers area you may find something. You certainly won't lack for choices there. :notworthy:

Trust me, I've tried but he is used to asp so that is why he wants Windows hosting. I myself started with ASP but then I switched to PHP for obvious reasons...

I actually have an account on a Windows server with five domain names, asp, perl, php, mysql, mssql, unlimited email accounts, stats, subdomains, ftp, & a bunch of other features including "unlimited" space and bandwidth (okay, okay, that was two years ago.... I have since been enlightened as to the meaning of unlimited space/bandwidth) for about $4 a month but they have since upped their prices. Oh yes, that doesn't effect me because I also got a price freeze guarantee. The company is www.hostonce.com and yes, there is a reason why I didn't link that url  , the hosting is a bit slow, though it isn't terrible. I am about to abandon that account and switch to Unix.

Thanks for the link, Randy. I actually just checked them out just before I saw your post. Hopefully I'll get a few leads from them...

I would recommend Crystaltech web hosting although they do charge more than $100 a year. But they are a highly reliable host, with a very rich set of features, and a combination of ASP and MySQL hosting.

Not quite at $100/yr, but not far is KiwiHost. The business is based in NZ, but the servers are in the US.

www.sectorlink.com is another good hosting service, i have used them for a while, and I have been pleased with the results, though I think you won't be able to get multiple domains for 100/year
