Hi all,

I have two questions:

1)The site www.seoplanet.com which used to come up in top positions has done down to 200+ position for kw 'SEO India' in Google even though i had optimized it better than it was before. What could be the reason? I am not getting top 100 results for some of the inner pages as well. What is the max time limit till which i must wait for google to reshuffle and produce different results.

2)Is there any way of finding out how the search algorithms work for the various search engines? I tried a search on this but in vain.

Thanks for reply.

Sorry i am asking all the time.

You answered your own question. If it wasn't broke, then don't fix it. Possibly change your site back the way in which it was before.

Starseo, as an SEO yourself, you should know that Google is pretty finnicky right now. Sites go up, sites go down.

Read the Tips for Newbies in the forum and lots of other threads to learn what you may want to do to help your rankings.

Most likely you'll want to build up links, as G is placing tons of emphasis on those at the moment.

Google and Yahoo are acting funny with us right now too. They have been dropping us from the serps the they show back up a day or so later. Google has been funny with caches. I keep getting old ones from months ago out of no where.

Thank you Jill!

I realize that Google is finnicky now. I just wanted to know if there is something terribly wrong with the home page.

Also I want to know if there is any site where we can come across the search algorithms for Google and Yahoo?

If there were such a thing, then our jobs would all be much easier, I think... if they continued to exist at all...

The SE algos are a closely-guarded secret. I don't think you're going to find anything other than informed speculation and wild-assed guesses out here among the "general population" of folks who aren't math geniuses employed by Google or Yahoo. ;)

Better contact Googleplex or Yahoo Corporation.

Google AND Yahoo's algorithm --

Create the best page for the most relevant search query.
