Hi there. I don't know if it's too soon to tell, but has Yahoo recently changed the way it handles search results? (And I'm talking about its post-Google engine).

Originally when Yahoo went live with its own search, my site's pages were showing up in the #1-#3 slots for dozens of different keywords. It was glorious. We didn't change a single thing on our site, and now all of a sudden we're basically off the map. I can barely find us in Yahoo at all with the same keyword searches, and if so, I actually have to put keyword phrases in quotes for us to show up (and even then, we're lucky if we get ranked as high as #85 or so).

Has this drastic drop happened to anyone else recently?

Also, any tips/tricks of late to help placement in Yahoo Search?

Thanks so much!

-Andrew

Hi Andrew

This seems normal enough for the new Yahoo Search Engine. All you can do us wait and see what happens.

One things i have noticed is that yahoo seems to be putting weight back on meta descriptions. Maybe this is something you can look at while you're waiting.

Thanks, guys. As I've hardly seen mention of it anywhere, I figure it's way too soon to tell. I just wasn't sure if this problem was happenign to anyone else is all. I'll make sure to double check meta tags and directory though. Thanks!

I don't know if my actual rankings dropped, but the overall traffic from Yahoo has stayed steady. I get about 35% of my traffic from them, and it's at 33% at the moment. So that's within normal fluxuation range. The only thing that I see interesting is that I'm getting an increase in Google traffic. A small and slow increase to be sure, but it's there nonetheless.
