There are so many paid options available, and I'm not really looking at sponsored links or pay-per-click options - are there any paid inclusion programs that can actually help a site's ranking or are they only good for getting a site to the five thousandth position quicker.

Assuming all the content, keyword, title, linking, etc. things are addressed, has anyone had experience with a moderately priced (say less than $100 US) paid inclusion search engine that is helpful? Ironically, my sites have tended to do much better in Yahoo than other big search engines and I have never had a Yahoo Directory listing.

Thanks.

i don't think so. it just makes it faster. if you work hard and have good content, your pages will get indexed. i don't like any pay per inclusion.

Although the sales reps will tell you it helps your rank also. Don't think they're really supposed to, so they kinda :aloha: if they say it.

Hello OysterWings,

PFI programs that do improve your rankings are:
- scrubtheweb.com
- mirago.co.uk

there are a few other regional engines that also offer improved rankings, but these are the main ones that cover US and UK traffic.

you can check the service details at http://www.prioritysubmit.com/

Cheers
David

The other major advantage of paid inclusion, is that you can tweak your site and see the results in days. We had a site that wasn't doing well, so we re-analysed it, made some changes, and within 3 days we had shot up the rankings. If we had to wait over a month for Google to re-index it, it would be slow progress!

As far as I know, Google doesn't accepts paid inclusion. they have a diiferent concept of adwords altogether.. isn't it?

I have used paid inclusion in the past and like karisewell said by tweaking you can get good results.

But 2 weeks ago I paid Lycos to add 2 URLs and everything was fine until MSN changed and now my paid inclusion listings are gone from MSN.

Has it happend to anybody else????

Yes, MSN is no longer using Yahoo/Overture/Lycos/AltaVista/AllTheWeb paid-inclusion.
