Hey folks, I came across this article about creating 3D buttons with CSS. These can be done much more effectively than the author does on his example, but kudos for the idea.

3D CSS Button Article

I'll get around to trying this soon - it's just I don't really get "paid" to try these things out.

:)

Let me know if you have any better examples or try this out yourself

It would have been nice if the author had set the buttons to switch from convex to concave on mouseover.

If you like that, you might also like this cool css button maker tool:

Their CSS Tabs are pretty slick as well.

If you use Dreamweaver check out MenuMagic if you want a program that will churn out great looking CSS buttons all day long or Autolayers which will get the same results (with a bit more work) free. Naturally all these menus are spider friendly. :aloha:

Scottie,

I really like the CSS Tabs with submenus. Sometimes I think the submenu rollover can be a bit too much information overload and I think this focuses the user nicely on where they should go first.

Maybe adding the CSS tabs with submenus withthis style with a pure CSS or this one with a small image and CSS would be the perfect fit. I hope to try it out soon.

The code looks great for SEO.

It amazing where CSS can take us

I have to admit, the possiblities of CSS fascinate me. But the browser incompatibilty is a huge issue to overcome.

I keep playing with it- one day the browsers will catch up and things will be different!
