My business news site was launched 4 weeks ago. After being 'hit' for a week by Google, the site was indexed. In the last 2 weeks, Googlebot has 'visited' the page more than 900 times. Yet the site does not have a Page Rank. What cud be the reason?

Also, the site has been optimised well. However keyword search throws up lesser sites (in terms of optmization, content and layout) while my doesnt show up!

Please advise! What do you folks think?

Welcome azharshamim! :aloha:

Sorry but I removed your site URL. You can add it to your signature file and can also get a site review once you become an active member with 20 posts or more.

Until then we can discuss your site in general.

4 weeks is not sufficient time for Google to assign PR even though it is crawling it regularly. Give it a couple of months and you should then see PR assigned, assuming you have external links pointting to your site such as links from directories or other sites.

As David said- PR is a measure of the links and the quality of the links (their weight) pointing at your site. If you have only 1 or 2 links, your PR may be less than 1, so it won't show a PR score at all.

Thanks David and Scottie.... However is it correct that Google assigns a Page Rank on particular days. And that these days are not fixed. Was Jan 26th the lat time PRs were assigned?
