You totally misunderstand what I am saying. I'm not being a smart ass or casting any dispersions. The fact is that I have read Jill's writings on the subject more over the years than any other single source of SEO information. She was the first person I ever read who talked about at least 250 to 300 words of content.
I don't think Jill has mandated anything- that is a general recommendation you will hear from a lot of SEO's who have been around for a while.
The best way to optimize copy IMO is to write compelling copy that converts first, then go back and see where it makes sense to modify generic words into keywords.
The word mandated was not a put down. It was an expression of respect for Jill's authority on the subject. I was trying to say if Jill said it I believe that it should be done. Now I haven't always agreed with everything Jill said, but in this case I totally agree and was trying to indicate that by refering to it as mandated by Jill.
Sometimes you guys just have to give me a break. We have talked about the UK versus US use of language. Maybe there is also a Canadian versus US difference.
If I make a mistake or am too aggressive I usually am the first to acknowledge, but in this case you're simply interupting a good thread for no legitimate reason.
