WOW! I agree with Jill. Just about everything you suggest is wrong and counter productive. How did you manage to convince your client of your expertise? Do you have any track record of success with this type of approach?

To respond, I have had a great deal of experience with seo several years ago. I have not been very involved with seo until recently (this new job). Over the last few months I have been doing a great deal of research to get up to speed with the new rules of the game, including reading these and other forums, and talking with 'seo experts' like yourself. Many of the seo firms and consultants I've contacted while searching out a subcontractor for our site to do the majority of the optimization for us have suggested similar strategies to those I've outlined. This is why I've posed the question to see how well received it is in this forum.
Secondly, I've read many threads in this forum and at one point, you were new around here and may even remember how overwhelming all the various viewpoints can be when researching a particular topic. Hence the direct question to the group.
